Pausing or cancelling
How to stop paying without losing your work — what happens to projects, reports and history when a subscription ends.
Account & billing 2 min read
Cancelling stops the payments and keeps your work.
Cancelling
Cancel from your account settings. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — until then nothing changes and every Pro feature keeps working. After that, the account reverts to Free.
There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.
What happens to your projects
Nothing is deleted.
| Item | After cancellation |
|---|---|
| Projects within the free caps | Fully usable |
| Projects and models over the caps | Editable as before; a model over 500 DoF does not solve, and no fourth project can be created |
| SAF, OOFEM and table export | Unavailable until you resubscribe |
| Reports already exported | Yours, unaffected |
| Design checks beyond the first per project | Unavailable until you resubscribe |
| Collaborators | Lose access; the invitations are kept and restored on resubscribing |
| Reports generated from now on | Watermarked again |
Resubscribing restores full access to everything, exactly as it was.
Pausing for a quiet period
There is no separate pause mechanism, and none is needed: cancel, and resubscribe when the next project arrives.
If you subscribe yearly, the discount is the trade-off for paying up front — see Plans and limits.
Before you cancel, export
- Reports for anything issued or issuable, as PDFs.
- Project files (File › Save as,
.elproj) for models you may need to reopen later. This works on every plan, so it also works after the subscription ends. - Result tables you rely on in spreadsheets.
- Results of models over 500 DoF, which will not solve again on Free.
Refunds
If you are an EU consumer, you have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right from the start of a subscription, subject to a proportionate charge for the part already provided — the detail is in the terms of service.
For anything else — a payment you did not expect, a renewal that caught you out — mail [email protected]. It reaches the person who decides.
Deleting the account entirely
Account deletion removes your projects and personal data, subject to invoices we are legally required to keep.
The procedure and your rights are in the privacy policy.
