Plans & limits
What the free plan includes, what Pro adds, and how the caps are actually measured.
Account & billing 3 min read
Two plans, Free and Pro, plus a Student tier that is the Free plan with ten times the caps. Every analysis type and every design module is in all of them; what differs is model size, a few delivery features and collaboration. There are no per-material modules or per-solve charges in any.

Three quotas and four switches are gated. The quotas: model size, cloud projects and
design checks per project. The switches: code-generated combinations, the full report
presets, export (IFC, SAF, OOFEM, tables), and collaboration. Every analysis type and every
design module is on the free plan, within the size cap; combinations can always be
written by hand, and the project's own .elproj file saves and opens on every plan.
The pricing page is authoritative if this table ever falls behind it.
How the caps are measured
Degrees of freedom
The free plan caps the size of the system the solver assembles, not what you can draw. A node in a 3D frame contributes up to six degrees of freedom; restrained ones do not count towards the solved system.
| Model | Rough DoF count |
|---|---|
| 2D portal frame, a few members | Tens |
| Small 3D frame, one storey | A few hundred |
| A slab or wall meshed for design | Thousands |
Cloud projects
Three at once on Free. Projects you no longer need can be archived to make room, and archiving does not delete anything.
Design checks per project
One on Free — enough to learn the whole verification workflow on. A real design job means several: one per member family, or one per standard when you are comparing them. That is a Pro thing.
Collaboration
Not a quota but a switch: on Free, every project stays private to its owner. There is no "one free collaborator" that would be useful.
Students
A free account with a verified academic email address becomes a student account: the Free plan with every quota multiplied by ten — 5,000 degrees of freedom, 30 cloud projects and 10 design checks per project — re-verified once a year. None of the Pro switches opens with it. See Student accounts.
Choosing
- Free is usable for learning the tool, for checking a hand calculation, for teaching, and for small frame work. It is not a trial that expires.
- Pro is needed the moment a model passes 500 DoF (a meshed slab of any real size does quickly), a project needs more than one design check, a report has to go out without a watermark, or someone else needs to work in the same model in real time.
Upgrading and downgrading
Upgrading takes effect immediately. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing is deleted when it does. Back on Free, a fourth project cannot be created, a model over 500 DoF does not solve, and design checks past the first are kept but locked. Combinations and report settings a Pro feature made stay as they are. See Pausing or cancelling.
Beta pricing
The product is in public beta and prices are as published today. Any change gives existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice and applies from the next renewal, never mid-period — the commitment is in the terms of service.
