Collaboration & sync
Shared models, real-time editing, and offline edits that merge cleanly when you reconnect.
Collaboration & sync 1 min read
Elementarium solves locally but does not keep your work locally. Every project is stored and backed up in the cloud, and more than one engineer can be in the same model at once.
In this section
- 01CommentsThreads pinned to nodes, members, plates or points, @mentions, blocking comments that hold up a report, and the notifications they send.
- 02Sharing a projectInviting people to a model, what each role can do, and how to coordinate two engineers in the same structure.
- 03Version historyAutomatic checkpoints and named versions — how long they are kept, previewing an earlier state, and restoring it in place or as a new project.
- 04Working across devicesOne account on every device — how a project follows you from desk to laptop, tablet or phone, and what changes on a small screen.
- 05Working offlineWhat keeps working with no connection, what does not, and how offline edits merge when you come back.
How sync works, briefly
Edits are recorded as operations on the model, not as whole-file saves, and operations from different people or devices merge deterministically: edits to different objects both apply, the later write wins on the same property, and solving never conflicts because every solve runs on its own machine. The rules, the roles and what merging does not do for you are in Sharing a project; what happens without a connection is in Working offline.
Going backwards
There is no save button and nothing to lose in normal use, and version history is how you go back: checkpoints are taken as the project is edited, a named version keeps a milestone for good, and any version can be previewed read-only or restored, in place or as a new project. Comments pinned to the model carry the review conversation alongside it.
Backups
Projects are backed up continuously and stored in the EU. Deleting a project removes it
from live systems immediately and from backups within 30 days — see the
privacy policy. For anything you must retain independently of a
subscription, take it out: a PDF report and an .elproj project file are the two
artefacts that outlive a subscription, and SAF export (Pro) is the one that outlives this
software. See Import & export formats.
